Did you get the license plate of the car that ran over me?

Get the license number!

I finally got to wear the costume I had planned to wear at Sandy Camp.  Things were crazy on movie night and I just did not get around to putting it on.  I dressed as Flo from Progressive insurance who had been run over by a car.  So I have tire tracks up the middle of my body.  So I answered the door for all the Trick or Treaters this Halloween.  I love seeing all the little kids in their costumes.  It was fun being dressed up and seeing their reaction to me too.  One boy said he wanted to come back and get insurance when he was old enough to have a car…  I hope everybody had a safe and fun Halloween.  -K

A New Costume for the Doctor!

I offered to help my cousin and her husband with their Halloween costumes if need be. They took me up on my offer a couple of weeks ago. Mostly, it was her husband. He loves to have costumes that are more original. A few years back he was Jack in the Box, big round head an’ all. They had a lot of fun visiting all the local fast food places on Halloween. People thought it was funny to see that Jack eating at Burger King and Wendy’s. They said one employee at Jack in the Box walked past him saying “Hi boss.”. Kids really got a kick out of it!

Fast forward to this year.

My cousin’s husband is a doctor, a podiatrist.

I had no idea of what he had in mind, maybe a little sewing? …no?

He brought me a picture of them posing with a guy dressed as the Lamisil Digger! Um, yeah, the toe fungus guy.

I love a challenge, I think.

This is the papier-mache head almost done. I’ve done lots of pinatas in the past. It felt like doing another giant one! I know, I should have taken more pictures along the way.

They both came over yesterday and helped me finish him up.

For the rest of the outfit I sewed sweatpants, a sweatshirt and a tail, all with spots glued on the back. He bought some creepy feet and gloves to wear too.

I love this. So do they. He’s already talking about the next costume!

I’m going to miss this big orange head taking up all that room on my dining table.

Mellowcreme Pumpkins in Polymer Clay

New in my Etsy Shop….

itty bitty polymer clay Mellowcreme Pumpkin beads!

I love the candy! I could eat a whole bag(or two) no problem. I may try to make the other things in the bag, maybe. I think this may require more research….

Yum! – Tina

Jack thought it was a bit odd that his surgery was scheduled for October 30th….

Sandy Camp XIII is Over!

We survived another year at Sandy Camp.  We had lots of laughs and late nights.  My Bug Demo went well.  Everybody seemed to enjoy it.  Several attendees through the weekend tried their hand at making bugs.  I made more bugs while I was there and gave the other artist that did demos their choice of my bugs as a thank you for their time and effort along with a card.  They liked picking a bug out of the collection.  I really enjoyed the different variations that people came up with of making the legs and antenna.  It was fun!  We had lots of crazy Halloween costumes at our Friday night Trick and Greet movie night.  The room was filled with people enjoying candy and lots of popcorn and the movie “Young Frankenstein”.  Now we need to recover for next year…

Drive You Buggy!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I am planning on doing a demonstration on making bugs at Sandy Camp which is coming up next week.  I have made lots of cute bugs.  Since we are celebrating our 13th year with Trick and Treat I was wanting to make some that are more Creepy.  So I have made a few Scarabs and beetles.  I have not come up with anything too scarry yet.  Maybe some of the other campers will make something that will scare everybody…. I will keep trying.  They all don’t have their eyes or their antenna.  I have to get them completed and baked.  I wanted to show you that I have been doing something.  I figured that some of the bugs would look good on the Birdhouses which still need decorated!  -K

Back To Business

Whew! I got Nikki’s birthday party done. She had a great time with all her funny friends. Apparently, to keep this crowd happy it takes is a pool, noodles, squirt guns, bubbles, glow sticks, stick on moustaches, a couple of sombreros, sour patch gummies, pizza, soda, skateboard keychains, cake and markers to write on the tablecloth. Good times…good times…

We had to use the table that I work on for the party, so now that I have it back I’m back in biz! I’m still into Halloween colors and goodies, getting stuff together to sell.

Why is it always food?   – T

Moving Along Quickly

Wow, it’s almost time for school to start! It’s been such a slow drawn out torture…I mean, such a short summer with the kids! Does it have to end so soon? Before you know it, we’ll be decorating for Halloween!

I can hardly wait!  – T

Polymer Clay Lil’ Boos

The next big decorating holiday coming up is Halloween. You can tell by the way the stores look. My Etsy shop is no different!

I am in the mood to put together some creepy cute things! I made some more pins to go with the other Halloween pins I have.

These are a few of the new guys. They are trying to be spooky but it’s not really working out for them. Maybe they need a home, because without the house to haunt they just look like whiners. I’m just sayin’  – T
